Not if it’s a flyer.
Golf is tricky lol. “Fat” just means hitting behind the ball. Off a clean lie, yes fat almost always goes short. But in the rough, out of a flyer lie, it can hit a hot part of the face and go further.

It’s a groove too high, there was tons of grass in between the ball and club face, and you hit it long because the ball had no spin.

Great shot. It was slightly fat. That’s why you got some grass on the face and that took all the spin away and kept the speed. A Flyer. A little lower the face won’t feel quite as sweet but it will spin higher and more consistent so your distance desperation will tighter.
I’ve never once been inclined to be happy about flying the green by 35 yds let alone make a Reddit post about it lmao.
