I Gotto Say Goodbye to 5 iron

Are you an experimenting hobbyist or a super low handicap?

I’m just having fun, genuinely love the game and am open to trying different things that work the best for me. Of course working to lower the hcp as well.

I need to see more pics of the “I made it putter”.

@Bran
Wow, I thought it was going to look lab-ish from the bottom! That guy is wild :sunglasses:

You’re going to love it! Not sure what’s going on with the 4 wood!?!

A company holiday raffle that had golf clubs as prizes. Sounds like heaven. I don’t think anyone else in my office golfs.

Which shaft did you go with? I got the Alta CB, and now wish I had the ping chrome 75:weary::broken_heart:

I also swapped the 4i for this, and still have the 5i in the bag.

My g430 9 wood is my favorite club. Absolute weapon, welcome to our cult!

Currently I carry both a 5 iron & a 9 wood. I play courses that have a ridiculous amount of trees and at least twice a round need to hit a 200 yard shot HIGH in the air to carry stupid trees. The 9 wood is amazing. Enjoy it.

Let’s see the whole bag.

I swear people are going to be using hybrids up until their wedges soon. You shouldn’t have to replace a 5-iron, that’s an extremely hittable club.

Facts. Remember when Hybrids were poo-poo’d when they first came out because they were considered a gimmicky game improvement club meant for beginners? Now everyone, including PGA players, have at least 2 in their bags lol.

@Nico
They’ve gone down in popularity on tour though because a lot of pros have decided to either use another wood or driving iron instead of a hybrid.

From my limited experience hitting utility irons, I can see why the tour players like them. The ball just POPS right up and out there off those faces.

Cobra t rail irons are pretty much exactly that, hybrids from 6i all the way down to wedges. Not the longest hitters but they sure are forgiving. I am happy to carry a bag of hybrids if it means a lower score and more enjoyment for me on the course.

As some dude said recently; “do whatever the h*ll you want, this game sucks and is impossible….”

I’m pretty sure Fred Couples has woods/hybrids through 6. 7 iron is his longest at the moment.

@Nova
Fred Couples is also 100 years old.

I play like I’m 100 years old.
