I won an Odyssey Twoball putter at my company’s holiday raffle, but I didn’t need another putter. So, I swapped it for this awesome setup instead:
- PXG 0311 Gen5
- TaylorMade Sim2 Max 3 Hybrid
- Honma Persimmon 4 Wood
- PING G430 Max 9 Wood
- Mizuno JPX EIII Irons (6-GW now)
- Vokey SM9 56/12D Wedge
- A putter I made myself
Loving this gear!

Ok but can we talk about that 4 wood?
It’s definitely a conversation starter for sure. Sure it takes time to get used to, but I’ve been loving it.

Seems like a waste of time. I’d hit that ping 100% of the time over that.

That there is called a slump buster. Only to be used when absolutely necessary.

The elephant in the bag should be addressed before we can move forward.
Edit: Maybe “The wooly mammoth” in the room/bag.
I think the pga tour should require persimmon woods.

14 clubs in the bag and 1 has to be persimmon.

Persimmon putters would experience a revival.

I’m all for it. MLB/MILB uses wood bats when all other levels use aluminum.

Based on your set, I have no idea if you’re scratch or can’t break 100, could go either way. Love it!

2-5 is my bet.
I’m just here for OP’s reply.
Just made the same move. 9 wood is so reliable.

My 9 wood is a weapon between 205-220 and that high launch angle holds greens if I do my part.
The flip side is you also need to know when to leave it home. Windy days aren’t where the 9 wood shines.
