People enjoy seeing this side of John, so he plays it up a bit. The other stuff probably isn’t aired often.
I think he’s a good dude, regardless of his politics. He seems kind and even owns a golf course for free play, probably in the negative on it.

Happiness looks different for everyone. Many see John as a ‘what could have been’ person, but he seems to see himself as someone who’s done well.
Some just aspire to enjoy life, and he seems to be content.

Funny enough, some MLB pitchers have lost weight and worked out hard, only to ruin their game.

Some don’t measure enjoyment or success strictly by a career. I doubt he has many regrets apart from marrying an ex-wife or two.
Didn’t Tiger once say that if Daly practiced at all, he would have been one of the best golfers ever?
The guy is passionate about being an alcoholic.
I wonder how high his peak could’ve been had he taken the game seriously. I value having a good time in life, on and off the course, but the Daily-Drunk-Daly thing is getting old, and I hope he’s taking care of himself.

He has also expanded golf’s appeal and shown that you don’t have to fit a certain mold to enjoy it.
