Going for my pro card next year, do I stand a chance?

I actually thought this was FP and thought, “Man, he has really slimmed down!”

Holy shit that was my first thought too :joy:

Wait, it’s not him?

Good luck! Not many understood you are going to be playing a Playing Ability Test. I think some thought you were attempting to get a Tour Card of some type. So, of course you stand a chance. The industry needs committed people. Keep it in play, work hard on your short game, no “short siding”!

@Parker
The PGA also wants more guys working through their books. PAT courses are typically set up favorably to the field, let’s say. That swing can very easily get it done.

@Eli
Are you by any chance an amputee?

The point of my screenshot was to highlight he hadn’t come off his trail leg. What part of my follow-through are you comparing?

I’m implying that I watched OP’s swing and thought, “yeah probably not a pro swing, but not bad.” I saw your criticism and thought, “this guy’s swing must be awesome!” Then saw your takeaway more laid off than a real estate agent during a housing crisis and thought maybe you should keep your thoughts to yourself.

@Eli
Draw some lines.

Scott Verplank was famous for ‘not coming off his trail leg’ and had a pretty stellar TOUR career. Considering OP is just going after his PGA teaching professional certification, I think he’ll be fine.

@Adair
Don’t bring Verplank into this. You can’t compare a guy that was the #1 bag at OK State to a guy who’s chasing a PAT pass. But this dude totally has better elbows than Verplank. If Verplank had his elbows, he wins 20 tour events.

@Eli
Why does this matter?

@Eli
I have the same problem in my swing, this is a chicken wing correct? On self diagnosis, would hip rotation and releasing low and left help?

@Eli
Jordan Spieth is pretty close.

@Eli
Does pro card mean touring pro or just pro shop pro? I’ve seen lots of pros with worse swings if it’s the latter.
