Found at a thrift store today! Debating if I should actually use it or keep it in the box

I used to want to save things, but the older I get, the more I realize that if I save it, I’ll forget about it and might as well never have had it. But if I use it, I get to see it and enjoy it a lot more.

So I would go for it and enjoy it. Super cool find.

My buddy got me a ball mark tool like this from Maui, and it was awesome. I used it a bunch and then lost it, and now I hate myself.

My dad played Augusta National with a member and brought back a repair tool that says ‘Augusta National’ instead of ‘Masters,’ which you can only get from the members pro shop, not the gift shops at the tournament. I use the tool all the time and quietly grin, thinking that whoever ends up with it will think some hotshot Augusta member was shooting around municipal courses in Iowa. Or someone got a coveted souvenir from this exclusive course and just beat the hell out of it.

I’m that rando. Found a St Andrews ball marker laying in the middle of the 9th fairway a while ago. No groups in front of me ever came back to look or ask about it? Seems like you’d notice it missing on 10.

It’s probably at the bottom of my bag with all of mine. I just use a penny or a dime if I’m feeling fancy.

I’m on the way there now, tell me where to send you a new one from Maui.

I didn’t learn this until I had a kid… Then I caught myself saving her things for that ‘just right’ time…

And months would go by without using those water balloons or free ice cream coupons…

I’m really trying to use them when we get them! I thank a documentary I watched that helped me realize I shouldn’t save that bottle for a special occasion because it may be too late…

Use the thing, OP… Life’s too short…

This comment reminds me of the Home Alone roller-skate analogy.

I’m the same way. I think growing up poor has a lot to do with it. That little voice always tells you that you’ll never get a new one of whatever again. I’ll catch myself doing this thinking, well, I’ll just buy a new one.

And there are still ways you can take care of it if you want to preserve it. Don’t throw it in the cart or put it in your pocket with change, for example.

Yeah, definitely. Use and respect.

If you don’t use it, you lose it.

This is false. Proof: I still have my weiner.

If you use it you probably still lose it. I lose these things far more than I’m willing to admit. Thankfully my club sells them for $1 each.

Humans just being jerks.

It’s a cool find for you, just use it. Or do something cool with it to impress non-golfing friends.

Only the forum will know; regardless, it’s cool if you ask me.

In other words, this confirms you should use it.

It’s cool, but it’s not valuable and has no sentimental value, so I’m not sure why you’d keep it in a box on the shelf.

It would only have value if you had been to Pebble and played it.

Use it and enjoy dreaming of paying the $675 green fee plus $55 cart fee to play the course. Oh yeah, add a hundo for the caddy.

That’s if you can get a tee time without staying at the onsite resort hotel that starts at $1000 per night.

And a minimum two-night stay!
