Full tees are for the driver. If you want to use them for a 3 wood, that’s your choice. For everything else, broken or short tees. For what it’s worth, I like hitting off of durable golf tee systems when I’m not using my driver. They last forever as long as you can find them.

Oh, definitely. I can usually go most rounds using just 1 or 2 of my tees. Helps the course too, less cleanup for them.

Not weird at all. I do the same to the point where I’m disappointed if I can’t find a broken tee!

I have a little bag of pocket stuff that I empty into my pocket at the start of the round—pitch tool, a couple of markers, a plastic driver tee, and a couple of nubbins. I almost always finish the round with more nubbins than I started with, and then I drop a handful at the range on the way from the 18th green to the clubhouse. In short, I also scavenge broken tees, even though I already have a few in my pocket, I still use someone else’s if it’s sitting on the tee box.

I do exactly what you do, and even if I have a tee, I still search for broken tees and put them in a little pile next to the tee or fill up the little tee bucket if there is one. I never understand why people throw half wooden tees into the bushes or water near a tee. Let’s reuse them.

I haven’t paid for new balls or tees in five years. I just don’t care.

I call them dirties, but yeah, I’m with you. All the courses I play aren’t high-end, so I always find a bunch of dirties when I need them. I usually only lose or break maybe 2 tees a round.

Same. I’m not cheap, just sensible and practical. Some tee boxes require pushing a 2-inch tee deep enough that it feels like drilling.

I’m the same way but take it a step further. I refuse to use a broken tee that is still in the ground. This happened to me the other day; the only broken tee was in the ground, so I had to use a fresh one and treat it as a stubby.

You are not alone. I play with plastic tees and carry two different lengths for 3 woods and irons. I always find them. I use new full-length tees with my driver. It’s not about being cheap; it’s just a preference.

Sometimes I make a bump tee by smacking the ground to create a little bump.

I just use a regular-length tee for every shot. They’re free, so why look for broken ones?

Do you have a tee tree or something? Why are they free?
My club gives them out for free. Different sponsors provide them for advertising. I don’t use them, but they’re not that rare.

I’ve never bought a tee in my life. They’re literally free at every golf course I’ve played.
