My golf friends tease me, but I only use an unbroken tee with my driver. For all my other shots, including 3 wood, I grab broken tees I find on the tee box, just enough to keep the ball off the ground. Am I the odd one here? I get frustrated when I can’t find a broken tee.
Thanks for sharing this. I actually learned something today. I used to just push my regular tee in extra deep.

People who use full tees to elevate the ball for fairway and iron shots are odd. MLN, find new golf buddies.

I’m the same way. I usually find a broken tee for everything except the driver. Most everyone I play with does that unless they don’t tee their iron shots.

Being upset about it might be a bit much, but I always search for a broken tee on par threes.

I’m always looking for tees and walking along the right rough for lost balls.

I’ll do you one better. I just look down while walking from the tee to my ball, not really even searching, and I find at least 2 to 3 full unbroken tees per round. I haven’t bought a tee in over 3 years and don’t plan on it.

I never use broken tees; they splinter. I always pick up used unbroken ones though.

I only hit 3 wood off the tee besides on par 3s, and I only use broken tees. In fact, I haven’t bought a bag of tees in about 7 or 8 years.

I only use a tee if I’m hitting a driver, but when I used to hit irons off a tee on par 3s, I would always look for broken ones. You push almost all the way into the ground anyway.

I’ve had the same plastic tee for a year. I don’t use tees on par 3s and I use broken tees for my 3 wood or driving iron.

I like to grab broken tees from the early par 4s and 5s, so that by the time the par 3s come around, I’ve already pocketed a few and don’t have to look for them.

I assumed this is why they have the broken tee boxes.

To each their own. I get it; golf is expensive. I typically use fresh wooden tees, 3 1/4 inches for the driver and 2 inches for iron shots. Breaking a tee usually means it wasn’t a clean shot. It’s just feedback to help you swing a bit differently.
