Surprisingly, the spin, launch, and smash numbers stayed pretty much the same until the end when it fell apart. I didn’t notice any change for three shots, hit it well with a 7-iron and only got 1.1-1.2 smash. I definitely got my money’s worth
@Harley
This happens with my Chromesofts a lot. I really need to keep track of how many hits I get. The first few times it took me way too long to figure out why my swing felt off

Yeah, I was really surprised at first. I was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. It felt dead off the face like I was toeing it, but I knew I wasn’t based on the mark on my club. Then I saw the ball, lmao
@Harley
If you want more funny stories about golf equipment breaking, I broke a driver in my garage simulator, which is too small for a driver. It has a hole the size of a quarter that whistles when I swing. I saw no drop in swing numbers but I can’t use it because it makes me laugh too hard
@Lin
I once accidentally installed a window in my S2+. No idea how I did that. Took my first practice swing and heard the ‘whoosh’
The new simulator near me uses TP5x balls in the bays. I’ve had 7-8 crack just like this. The stats were basically unchanged until they broke. I can hear and feel a difference in the ball as it gets closer to breaking, but that could just be because I see it’s getting worn out
@Lin
The only thing I really noticed was that the ball was leaving bigger marks on the club face, probably because more of the cover was getting torn up. I guess that can affect the feel, but I couldn’t tell personally
@Lin
My friend doesn’t let us use them at his place. He prefers ProV or Z-Star
Every ball will crack from hitting an impact screen repeatedly. I’ve broken ProVs too
1200 is a lot! Nice! I play Vice too (I don’t have a simulator) and love them. I haven’t had issues with durability

Seriously. You’re likely to get at most 300 strikes before losing the ball. Unless you’re really careful, there’s no way you’re going 5 or more rounds without losing it. Even going through 2 rounds without losing one might only be about 100 strikes since putting doesn’t count as a strike

Isn’t that just normal wear and tear at that point

Surviving 1200 hits is a selling point, not a defect

@Storm
I didn’t say it was a defect
I’m suggesting that they should send that to Vice so Vice can use it. They might get free balls or merch as a thank you

What did you say to them that warranted free balls
That’s nothing. I can do that in one shot
Which one is the used ball
Vice balls have been impressive over the last year or two. I played them in their early days and was underwhelmed. The performance was good, but the durability was terrible. Since trying them again last year, they’ve become my full-time ball both in the simulator and in real life. I just ordered their 5+1 deal this year, with free customization
The Pro balls hold up really well
