Why was this at Marshall's clearance and why was it originally $40

Can you get me the Hello Kitty desk light?

I’ll give you ten bucks over ticket price for it.

I first read fleshlight.

There is a more common word for ‘kitty’ that could apply better here.

Are you sure that’s not 39 confederate dollars? Because wow, that’s ancient… I’ve been playing golf since the mid-1990s and never seen that Pinnacle branding.

The presence of a DDH sleeve and Titleist sleeve is baffling. I don’t even recall the DT 100s!

@Cary
Ah, young Padawan, you have much to learn.

Started in the early 80s, and these were an upgrade in some ways from the wound balls we used to play. They were at least more consistent and didn’t cut as easily.

@Winter
Yes, DT stood for Durable Titleist. Surlyn cover, as I recall, vs. the thin, cuttable balata cover typical of 20th-century Titleists.

20th-century Titleists?!?! Oh… wait… yeah…

@Jordan
I know, right! The 1990s were a quarter of a century ago! What the heck?

@Cary
I started playing in 1990, but the only Pinnacles I played were the ones I found in the rough. They were terrible, but okay for beginners.

Better than the ROCKflite XLs at that time.

@Cary
My grandpa was into golf, and he still had some boxes at his place. I think they were from the early 80s. My dad still plays with them occasionally.

@Cary
This is late 80s to early 90s stuff here.

@Cary
These were around in the early 90s.

Some classics :ok_hand:.

@Cary
You’re acting like the mid-90s was ages ago… it’s not that long ago.

It’s ancient for golf, especially for something being sold as new in a ‘NOS’ place like Marshall’s… but yes, as someone born in the 1980s, anything post-1988 feels recent to me :rofl:. 2008 was what, six years ago?

@Cary
Nah, you’re right. 2008 was indeed six years ago. It’s hard to convince my mind otherwise.
