I’m curious. I only see this with TaylorMade woods but when they’ve been well-used they all have this light/dark ring around the face. Is it something particular to TM, and does it significantly affect performance?
Some fat slices coming off those clubs.

More like toe draws.

Wish that was the outcome when mine hits it; it’s like that.

Nah look at the direction of the scrapes. Huge slice.
Maybe try making impact not on the crown of the club.
Seems like you’re missing most of the club face lol.
Stop hitting rocks off the crown with it and you won’t see this so much.
Not worried about the crack on the face of the top one?

Yeah, the club is literally broken haha.
Did you hit sandpaper wrapped ball bearings with these?!? Jesus Christ.
Hitting dirty range balls. Clean the sand and dirt off balls before using woods on the range.

Yep. All woods will do this, not just TMs, if you hit balls with sand on them.
Lol try hitting the ball properly.
Both of those have seen a ton of fat shots on range mats. That’s why they’re worn around the edges.
User error.
Smashing a hunk of metal into the ground repeatedly is likely going to cause some scratches.
The paint on top really isn’t supposed to endure repeated impacts.
Also that clubface is cracked.
Also don’t hit sandy range balls with your clubs…
I’ve seen tons of TM fairway woods do this. Normally this is the first step before the face splits across the line near the top. Not sure what causes it but that oval ring you are seeing is where the face insert is welded into the rest of the head. The material is different enough that it always starts to rust like this. I’ve seen this issue as far back as the RBZ and as recently as Sim 2. I’m sure I’ll start to see stealth and stealth 2 fairways do this as well. As of right now your fairway is on the well done side of cooked and is on its way to the trash pile…that being said play it till the face gives up.
