Upgrading from Burner Plus Irons: Mizuno JPX or Ping G425?

I have been playing golf for about 2 years using a set of Burner Plus irons and usually shoot around 90 (±4). With a recent Christmas bonus, I am considering upgrading to a newer set of irons. I am eyeing the Mizuno JPX series Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro, or the Ping G425.

Do you think upgrading would make a significant difference in my game? Do you have any suggestions or thoughts on which set might be better for me?

Upgrading your irons can definitely make a difference, especially if you’re already shooting in the 90s and looking to improve. I had a similar experience when I upgraded from an older set to the Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal irons. The added forgiveness and distance control were noticeable and helped my consistency. Between the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro, and Ping G425, I’d say it comes down to your preferences and playing style. The Mizuno Hot Metal irons offer great distance and forgiveness with a sleek look, while the Hot Metal Pro is slightly more compact for better control. The Ping G425 irons are known for their forgiveness and high launch, which might suit your game if you need a bit more help with launch and accuracy. Try out a few demos if you can to see which feels best for you.
