Update: Golfer Arrested After Smashing Driver Over Another Player’s Head in Shocking Video

Crap, now we are all going to be required to have a license to use a driver.

I thought Canadians are supposed to be polite? :neutral_face:

Brooksie, is that you?

Definitely over the top with that swing…

Must be Taylormade Driver.

Thank god for Costco’s generous return policy.

The disastrous event, caught on video, took place at Burnaby Mountain Golf Course in British Columbia, Canada on Oct. I’ve seen the video. It definitely was NOT caught on video!

Thankfully it was a driver and not an iron.

Let’s hope that club head speed was sub 100mph…

18 holes take 4hr 30 min. Period. The golf community as a whole needs to stop with the pace of play bullshit. I’ll take my downvotes like a man, but it’s terrible for getting kids involved and growing the game. Every single one of us has had an altercation at the golf course in the last few years. At some point it’s us that needs to make it stop.

@Valentine
Played ~60 rounds this year. Not one incident or altercation. Maybe it’s just that Michigan-nice. I do, however, work with a fella that got pissed at us (was playing in the group behind us during a company outing) because he thought we were ‘slow.’ All because he had to wait half a shot less than a handful of times. Our foursome finished in just under 4 hrs. I told him that if a 4hr round from a foursome is too slow for him, he’s wrong and needs to find a new sport. We now make him tee off first group for every outing. 4.5 hours should be expected/anticipated. Full stop.

@Valentine
I played a round yesterday and was done in three and a half hours. And walked. It can be done.

@Valentine
My 70 year old mom can shoot 117 and play in 3:30 and she thinks that’s still too slow.

@Valentine
3.5-4hrs is completely doable. Courses should just enforce and punish slow pace of play. The biggest issues are easily fixed - play ready golf, enforce 3 min looking for ball max (realistic should be less unless it’s tournament play), and pick up after a certain point (say, double par).

@Valentine
In nearly 30 years, I’ve never had an altercation at a golf course. Quit projecting.
