I always dislike these ‘flop shot’ tips from pros because they say ‘oh it’s so easy just open the face’. Well yes, it is easy for you with your 4° of bounce but it’s a bit tougher for those of us who need 8-12°
Opening the club and then gripping instead of gripping then opening might be the best tip I’ve never thought about

I noticed that too, I think I have a habit of gripping the club normally and then trying to open the face

Yeah, this is a common mistake people make when setting up for a bunker shot too

If you do the opposite you mess up your club facing and grip. I find that positioning the face first and then letting my grip drop into my fingers works best

Unless you’re friends with the number one golfer, he probably doesn’t need to see this
From that second position, I’m seriously debating between putter and 8 iron lol

I lost my pitching wedge and have just been using my 9 iron. There’s a video about using a higher club for chipping, and honestly that worked decent this season. I hope to get new clubs in the winter
I could really use some motivation for bump and run. I use a 60 for everything, and when it’s going well, I wouldn’t consider bump and run. But when things go bad, I wish I knew how to hit an 8 iron.
Most important thing said: it’s a high percentage shot. Hit the shots you know you can hit

He should read Paper Tiger. Scratch is bad

Does he have any idea how far I would hit this ball if I try it

Oh, I’d hit that ball 30 yards past where I want it
Only 30? More like see you at the next tee
