Irons recommendation for a high handicap / playing for a year

Hey guys, :man_golfing: I have been playing since March and started with the Callaway Edge set from Costco. I’m planning to pass these on to my son, who’s interested in picking up golf. For Christmas, I’m getting fitted for new irons.

Any suggestions on a super forgiving set that can also help with my distance?

Thanks! :christmas_tree::golf:

Top Contenders:

  • Callaway Paradym AI Smoke: Praised for its impressive distance and forgiveness, thanks to its AI-designed face technology.
  • TaylorMade Stealth HD: Delivers a high launch angle and a large sweet spot for optimal distance.
  • Ping G430 Max: Offers maximum forgiveness and distance, with a focus on consistent performance.
  • Cobra AeroJet Max: Designed to enhance distance and improve gameplay.
  • Mizuno Hot Metal Pro: Combines forgiveness with a refined feel compared to other drivers.

Key Factors to Consider:

  • Get Fitted: Ensure the clubs suit your swing speed and launch conditions with a proper fitting.
  • Demo Day: Use demo days at golf courses to test different clubs before making a purchase.
  • Shaft Choice: The right shaft can greatly influence distance and accuracy.
  • Budget: Set a budget and compare prices from various retailers to find the best value.

Don’t forget to get fitted. It’ll make a huge difference in finding the right clubs for you.
