Sounds like you’ve got a ‘LOFT’ issue… Lack Of Freaking Talent.

I had the opposite problem. The swings for irons and drivers are so different. With irons, you want to hit down on the ball, but for drives, you hit up. When I started hitting down on my irons, my driver suffered. Too many variables to think about!

Where are you losing the most strokes? Everyone says ‘drive for show, putt for dough,’ but if your driver is off, you’re laying 2 hitting 3. If your pitching is off, it’s only one stroke. Plus, there are more alternatives when your pitching is off (like a bump and run), but not many options when your driver is failing. Still, my best rounds are always when I drive well. Wish I had more of those days!

It all comes down to your attack angle.

Golf is so frustrating. I used to have great ball striking with my irons, my woods were decent, and I could save the game with my wedges and putting. Now, with my new driver, I’m hitting them straight, but my irons are a mess. My draws are going straight left, and my fades are turning into slices.

I don’t think you can be good at both baseball and golf at the same time.

Sounds like you’re dealing with the ‘madness of golf.’ Just hit two drives and book a tee time for tomorrow.

This is a really common issue. I wish I knew what causes it or how to fix it.
