Help Me Choose Between Arccos vs. Shotscope

Hello guys

I’m trying to decide between Arccos and Shotscope for my golf game, and I’d love to get some opinions. I’ve heard great things about both, but I’m not sure which one would be the better fit for me.

From what I understand, Arccos has that automatic shot tracking feature, which sounds convenient, but I’ve read that it requires a subscription for some features. On the other hand, Shotscope offers GPS and shot tracking without a subscription, but I’m curious about how their performance metrics stack up against Arccos.

What do you all think? Have any of you used both? How do they compare in terms of ease of use, accuracy, and overall value?

Thanks for sharing! I’ve been using Shot Scope for a few years now, and I recently wanted to try Arccos because the app looks more modern. I haven’t made the switch yet, but I’m pretty happy with Shot Scope overall.

When reviewing the Arccos dashboard, you’ll notice there’s a lot more info in the app overall. The dashboard isn’t really where you go to analyze your data. Also, Arccos doesn’t show individual shots gained and has never claimed to. Looking at it shot by shot isn’t very useful; it starts to make sense only after you’ve played at least 10 rounds.

I really don’t think I could switch away from Arccos. It’s been so much better with my Apple Watch Ultra 2. I can do a lot from my watch, like checking distances and updating scores. I also have the Pro, and it works great. One day, I didn’t seat the Pro all the way, so it wasn’t charged, and I had to use my watch to track my game. It worked perfectly and didn’t drain the battery. I had an Apple Watch Series 4 and 7 before, and they would die all the time. After over 100 rounds, the Arccos setup has been fantastic…I must say…

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 weighs about 61.3 grams (2.16 ounces), which is a bit heavier than the regular Apple Watch models, but many users find it comfortable to wear, especially for golf and outdoor activities.

If you’re considering switching from the Series 8, the Ultra 2 has a longer battery life, which can be really helpful for getting through an entire round without worrying about charging. The 10 might also be a good option, but if you want the extra features and durability that come with the Ultra 2, it could be worth the investment, especially for your needs on the course.

I don’t even notice the weight of the Ultra 2; I’m on the beefier side, and I sleep with it on without any issues. What I really found is that the bands make a big difference in comfort and weight. The Lite Fit Pro and Lite Fit Ultra bands are fantastic  I love the one-piece flexible fabric. They’re so much better for golf because I can slide it up as needed and barely feel it’s there.

Nice review. I’ve bee considering getting one of these.

I got Arccos for the free trial just to see if I’d like it. If I enjoy it, I’ll buy ShotScope instead, but I think the Arccos features are nice to have. I really dislike subscriptions, but a 45-day free trial and the free Arccos deal are too good to pass up…

Juz switchd to Arccos from Garmin, and I really like a lot of things about it. However, it consistently misses 10 or more shots per round, even with the Link Pro. I’ve opened a support issue but haven’t figured out the root cause yet.

In the APP, when you’re on the activity page for a hole, you can swipe up just above the number of putts. This will show you a list of all your shots for that hole, and below that, you’ll see hole history, including your average score, fairway percentage, greens in regulation percentage, average putts, and average pace. It’s all available instantly every time you open up a round.

So the courses tab is not supported on the new dashboard. You’ll need to switch to the old dashboard, which isn’t optimized, to view course data.

To access course information, go to the activity section in the dashboard. Click on the scorecard and select a hole, then click on “view hole history” to see details from up to the last 20 rounds.

Also, the first-year membership isn’t just $292; that includes the cost of the sensors along with the membership. If you own clubs from most manufacturers, you can get free sensors through them.
