Not the same, but I contacted a fencing company that had an ad on a communal mailbox while I was walking. I needed some fence posts set, and the timing was right. I’m sure if I was golfing and saw a fencing company on the scorecard, I would have called
Free drinks or food might get my attention
Who stares at a scorecard for more than just writing the number down
This is not something where I live
I think around 2012 I went to a restaurant after playing at a course in an unfamiliar area that advertised ‘half price appetizers if you show this scorecard’. That’s about it
Yes, the municipal course by me has a ‘two for one’ drink coupon in one of the ads. I frequent that bar and often clip the coupons from my cart partners if they don’t use them
No, but one scorecard had ‘bring this scorecard for a 15% discount on your food order’. We did that
Six different area codes on this scorecard. What’s that about
Never contacted them, but I assume it’s mainly brand awareness
I also figure if you’re advertising, they’re likely throwing in some free golf for you as a sweetener
I couldn’t tell you a company I’ve seen on these. My brain doesn’t even register them
I advertise a lot at my local home course. I do it to help them out a bit and it’s just a common thing when you’re part of the business club. Plus it’s just a bit of a pissing contest among members about who can afford the biggest promotion sign on the course
I had to zoom in on the ads because this scorecard looks very similar to one at a local course
Nope, but I’ve been solicited to be one many times
I’ve played at least 30 rounds this season at the same course and couldn’t tell you who the advertisers are
The pizza place in the upper left corner offers 20% off if you bring the card in. Seems like a good way to check if the ad is working
Am I the only one who has never paid attention to scorecard ads? I’m out there to play golf, not read little words

You’re not alone. I’ve never looked at any of the advertisers. Mostly because if I need a service, I’m Googling what I need, not remembering businesses
No, I actually dislike the guy who advertises as you approach the 9th green because it sounds like the cart boundary that locks the thing until you reverse back. Honestly, it’s an income opportunity for the course which hopefully gets invested back into it somehow. I guess it could be useful for things like emergency auto issues while on a golf trip in an unfamiliar area
Jean Smith, stop being a cheapskate! Free round of golf when you buy or sell? That’s a no for me
Step it up. Free new driver or irons when you buy or sell. Now that’s the agent for me
Yep, but I belong to a small rural club. The advertisers are the major donors to the club, and if they’re going to support the club, I’m going to support them whenever I need their services
