Had the chance to experience one of those stadium golf events last night in Atlanta at Truist Park. I hit the ball poorly, but still had a blast. If you get the opportunity, it’s definitely worth it…
@Levi
I feel the same way. It was really cool to be at Truist for that kind of event, and I’d happily do it again at a different stadium or as a gift for someone.
@Levi
That thing is like $100, and they give you 18 balls?! Over five bucks a ball, lmao. No thanks.
@Levi
Glad you enjoyed yourself genuinely, but it seems like such a money grab. Damn.

I did Stadium Links at Angel Stadium a few years back for just under a hundred bucks. If you’re looking at it as just golf, sure, it’s not a great deal. But they took us through parts of the stadium that most people never get to see, and it’s really about the experience. Consider what a ticket to a game would cost with food and drinks. It’s not cheap, but if you go with friends, it’s a blast.

It’s the novelty of doing it in your team’s stadium, plus it’s a private company that pays the stadium owners for the use of it. Staff costs for security, food, and drinks, so of course, it’s pricey.

It’s 9 holes at different spots around the stadium hitting onto the playing surface. They sell drinks throughout, and you get a free drink ticket. There’s also a golf simulator at the end where you compete in longest drive and closest to the pin challenges; it’s a pretty fun experience. Just a heads-up: it’s called ‘Upper Deck Golf.’

At Petco, I received a hat, extra balls to take home, and each hole had a theme with free swag at most of them. Some holes had alcohol themes with free drinks, too. The first time Petco did it, we even entered through the clubhouse and could warm up in the batting cages. Definitely worth doing at least once!
@Chen
Maybe I need to research more about this; color me sticker shocked.

Of course, it varies everywhere, so it’s worth looking into. The subsequent times I went to Petco, we didn’t enter the clubhouse or batting cages, but we always teed off from home plate, which is unique since there aren’t many chances to step onto an MLB field and stand there. Overall, it’s a very cool experience packed with fun stuff to make you feel like you’re not getting cheated. If you can swing it, it’s worth doing at least once just to experience the park.

Ridiculous. I’d rather lose all my Pro V1s at the local muni than spend $5 a ball.

Thanks for the info.
Also, look up Stadium Links. They did it first before Upper Deck started offering it too.
Looks like Craig Counsel picked up a golf club.
You missed the ball!

Lol that was my second ball; you get two per hole. I certainly whiffed a few on the sim. I’m 6’5”, and my clubs have 1.5 inches added. Trying to hit regular-length clubs off mats without warming up was tough.
Sliced that one bad.

That early extension, though lol.

You nailed it. I hadn’t swung a club in about a month, and their clubs were standard length. Being 6’5” and used to longer clubs, adjusting to shorter wedges without warming up was a battle. At least I’ll blame the club length for ego’s sake.

Very unnatural.
