From a 111 to a 92 in one day. Get fucked golf

I started playing golf last summer and made some good progress. I hurt my back earlier this summer and haven’t quite gotten back to where I was, but then this happened. I have a love-hate relationship with golf and can’t wait to play again next week.

Yeah, I know, each round took over 4 hours. The first day, we were stuck behind a group of 16 guys with 2 tee times. The second day, the course was packed, even on a Thursday. Given the situation, the times weren’t too bad.

This sub is fucked when you’re apologizing for 4:15 round

The sub is obsessed with the idea that rounds should be over in 2/3 hours. Get absolutely fucked. What’s the point of playing golf if you’re desperate to be off the course? 4.15 is perfect

Yes, anywhere around 4 is perfect. 4h 45m+ is when it starts getting out of hand.

Seriously. The way some people play it’s like they’d rather be anywhere other than the golf course.

Well it’s mostly my wife that wants that, but yeah :joy:

I’m lucky enough to have a wife who tells me to be at the course more often lololol. My brother on the other hand his wife HATES his golf habit.

Or you know, people that like playing golf like playing golf, and don’t want to spend two hours standing around waiting for fairways and greens to clear. Don’t get me wrong, the other half of the reason I golf personally is to get exercise outdoors. And you can go a long ways with a positive attitude and finding nondestructive ways to pass the time (hunting for golf balls, shooting the shit). But when you’re spending almost as much time waiting as golfing… that’s not “I wish I weren’t golfing.” That’s “I wish I were golfing.” Unless the reason why you like golf is because it’s an excuse to get away from a part of your life that you hate.

Honestly, this sub has given me such paranoia about playing fast that I’ve had multiple arguments with my dad and other playing partners about pace of play. I also like to play fast but my dad is old and on oxygen and needs to take it slow. Because of this sub, I’m constantly pushing him to play faster. F that. If it takes us 4 1/2 hours on a Tuesday afternoon to finish a round of golf… So be it. My dad is not dying on the golf course cuz one of you A-holes wants to be done in 3 hours for whatever dumb reason you may have.

That would be easy with nobody in front of me…

I think it’s ironic that there’s a group of commenters here telling people that like to play quickly to get absolutely fucked, but if anyone complains about slow play they are the same ones that say “LeT EvErYoNe EnJoy ThE gAmE at ThEiR pAce!!!” Get fucked.

Behind a 16 man group

There is nothing wrong with 4:15 pace.

I didn’t mind it, but I know how some people on here go absolutely nuts over pace of play. Anything around 4 hours for 4 of us and I’m good.

I agree, I just know the pace nazis are lurking.

I mean it’s for sure slow. Usually relying on other people though.

Without knowing what the course sets as standard it’s hard to judge.
