Born and raised in Utah, a flat horizon with nothing beyond it is unsettling to me.

I grew up in the Midwest with only flat terrain, so we come from opposite backgrounds. Do you enjoy seeing the flat horizons?

It’s like a third of my perspective is missing. Out here there’s the ground, the mountains, then the sky. You just have 2/3 of the picture. There’s a reference point that’s missing. It’s strange.

It makes it extremely difficult to judge distances. I couldn’t tell if a trap in the distance was 125 yards or 300 yards away sometimes.

It’s great. Have you gone up to SentryWorld?

Immaculate.

SentryWorld is more about the experience. The course is immaculate and everything non-golf is perfect. For pure golf, I prefer Erin Hills by a fair margin.

I’ve played Wild Rock, which was created by the same designers as Erin Hills. It definitely shares the same design language. With complex greens, I hated that most were elevated, preventing the player from seeing what was in front of them.

Was there in the spring. It’s one of the best golf experiences. I have been to many world-class destinations, and from course to hospitality, it was the best I’ve had. Our group had more fun there than any other place we’ve been.

Never seen the courses of Western Nebraska, huh? Most of us never will be able to…

West Nebraska has probably the best links-style golf in the US. Problem is, many courses like The Sandhills don’t allow anyone other than members to play them. Not to mention they are tough to get to.

Course looks so hard after watching Bryan Bros and GH play it.

Yes, very tough!

I’m curious, how much is a single round there? Any other notable courses within 30-40 minutes?
@wakio
Kohler, Crystal Downs, and about 10 country clubs in Chicago (with their history) would like a word.
