Women's golf club set for beginners

Hi guys,

I have been golfing for years, and my wife is now interested in joining me. I play with X-stiff clubs, which aren’t ideal for her. She’s around 6’ and athletic but lacks the technique for high clubhead speed. I’m looking for recommendations for full sets or individual clubs (iron sets/driver) that would be good for her to start lessons and get on the course with me. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The ideal club set is one that makes you feel at ease and enhances your enjoyment of the game. Don’t be afraid to test out several sets before deciding to buy.

Hello there! When I was ready to upgrade and add more clubs, I started with the Wilson Profile women’s set, which was a good choice (if you want a recommendation). You generally won’t use all of your irons as a novice until you can consistently hit clubs that are roughly 20 yards apart. You now start adding clubs to cover the spaces. Should this apply to you, you can probably get by without an 8i.
Having a driver, 3w or 5w, 6i or 7i, 8i or 9i, and then your wedges and putter is what I would advise. In addition, until you have a space between your driver and six or seven irons, I wouldn’t worry too much about woods or hybrids.
