Winter golf at Yocha Dehe Golf Club in Brooks, CA

Playing at Yocha Dehe is always a special experience, and yesterday was no different. The course was in the best condition I’ve ever seen, which is saying a lot since it’s usually in great shape. The fairways were perfectly striped, the tee boxes level, and the greens rolled pure.

Despite a full week of rain in the area, there were no drainage issues or muddy spots—everything played clean. If you ever get the chance to tee it up here, you’ll be counting down the days until your next round as soon as you leave.

Love the first tee on the hill! I need to go back!

It’s always a treat teeing off on that hole. I honestly spend the hour drive getting there wondering ‘will I hit fairway this time?’. Yesterday there was a 15 minute frost delay so they had people tee off from 10. Was different playing that hole when it wasn’t your first shot of the day!

Hill? You mean the top of the mountain overlooking a cliff? Lol.

Yocha Dehe is the nicest course I’ve played. The time I went it was expected to be raining. All week long the weather showed a storm coming through on the day we booked. We decided to go anyway. We had very light rain for a hole or two… cloudy for a few more holes and then the sun broke out. It was pretty awesome. We practically had the course to ourselves that day.

First time I played Yocha was the first time I broke 80. I absolutely love this place.

I feel like I play my best golf at this course too. For me I think it’s the mental benefit of not having trees obstructing any out of place shot. Hit a shot in the rough and you still have a great opportunity to reach the green.

Damn that’s a tough course for that score!

Here we are dealing with frost in the PNW. At least the sun is out! Hit em well.

They had a 45 minute frost delay this morning, mostly because the course sits in a valley and it takes time for the sun to crest the hills. It’s not uncommon for them this time of year.

Played there once! Had a blast! :love_you_gesture:t4::love_you_gesture:t4:

Me and my buddy have been thinking about playing there soon. Thank you for these photos! I’m gonna go look at t-times rn haha.

If you’re able to plan ahead 3-4 weeks you’ll get the best rates.

My group wanted to play there yesterday but we couldn’t get 3 tee times. Had to play Eagle Vine instead. Yocha is a beautiful course.

First tee is fun as hell. The elevated tee box (like 200 ft +) gives an awesome view of the whole course. You crush your drive and when you get to your ball, it’s barely in the fairway.

Plus the starter is sitting there watching you. lol.

Just hit there a couple of weeks ago. I love that course.

Played last weekend!

man love Yocha… haven’t played there since my brother’s bachelor party about 15 years ago. need to make my way over there again.

What a place to have it! I try to go out for my birthday each of the last few years, maybe why I find it so special too.

Enjoy. Wisconsin golf season might be officially over.
