little yard. Garage, but no space for golf simulator.
I’m not sure about the science behind it, but I believe the wiffle balls provide better feedback than those quite good foam balls. Someone with a degree in engineering, please?
As someone with a small yard, I’ve done a lot of research on the best options for golf practice. Based on my findings, I would recommend using foam balls over wiffle balls for my situation. While wiffle balls can provide good feedback on swing mechanics, they tend to fly erratically, especially with full swings, and can go too far for a small yard. Foam balls, on the other hand, are designed to travel a shorter distance while still allowing you to work on your swing. They may not curve as much as wiffle balls, but the controlled flight path makes them better suited for my limited space. I can easily hit foam balls into a net or chipping area without worrying about them going over my house. For the type of practice I’m looking for in my small yard, the foam balls seem like the more practical and effective choice.
Your best bet is probably soft foam. While the wiffle foam balls react strangely to full swing shots, the hard foam balls may still travel a fair distance (my child likes to have me smash them over the house with a wedge).
