Why are Golf Pride Tour Velvets So Popular Among Tour Players?

Hi folks…

I’ve been diving into the world of golf grips and keep hearing about the Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips being the go-to choice for so many professional players. I’m curious why they’re so popular among tour players.

  • What specific features make these grips stand out?
  • Do they offer any advantages in terms of feel, control, or performance compared to other grips?
  • Are there any notable endorsements or statistics that highlight their use on tour?

I’d love to hear your insights and experiences with these grips, especially if you’ve tried them on the course. Thanks

It’s like the most average grip ever (not wildly soft/firm or tacky or textured etc) and provides decent performance in all weather.

I always have had a problem with the velvet slipping if you don’t clean them after every round.

It’s been a popular choice as a standard grip for many years because it feels good and has a nice tacky surface. However, Lamkin grips are still better.

Tour Velvet

It’s right in the name: TOUR Velvet. I don’t think that’s a coincidence
