What's up with Viktor Hovland lately

I think there’s a lot of overreaction to Viktor’s situation. His swing wasn’t great at the start of the season, but he’s improved over the last two weeks. He was in the top 5 for SG approach last week and even had positive SG approach today despite a water ball.

Right now, his putting is seriously off. He’s losing a lot of strokes with the putter lately. His confidence in putting is gone, which affects the rest of his game and he misses opportunities when he makes mistakes.

The good news is that putting can change quickly. I believe Viktor will be fine and will compete well in a major this year. While he might not be back to his 2023 form, he’s still close to being a top 20 player right now.

He’s just playing golf.

Golf is tough, my friend.

Sawgrass can be unforgiving. He’s been upfront about not being where he needs to be. Golf is extremely challenging.

He’s been taking swing advice from forums, it seems.

Why change something that was working?

Remember when Tiger used to lead majors by a lot? Then he built his swing from scratch to improve. If it’s working, just leave it be.

He hasn’t fallen that far.

Remember Dustin Johnson missing the cut while shooting 80-80, then winning the next tournament? That’s golf for you. Hovland will bounce back, it’s a tricky game, and we all love it.
