I’m looking for opinions on the P770 vs P790. I currently have the 2017 P790s but recently tried the new P770s and loved their more compact look. I hit them well, though I noticed an expected loss of distance and a bit less forgiveness. Has anyone made the switch and been happy with it, or regretted it? My gut tells me that switching to a less forgiving club just for the aesthetics might be a bad idea since this game is already challenging enough. For reference, I’m an 8 handicap.

The P770 and P790 golf clubs have some key differences. The P770 clubs create more spin, especially with mid and long irons, which is why I prefer them. The difference in forgiveness between the two isn’t very noticeable. If you tend to spin the ball a lot, the P790s might be better for you. For everyone else, I’d recommend using either all P770s or a combo set with P770s for the short irons.
The feel of the clubs is also different. The P770s are softer and provide more feedback, while the P790s feel faster and bad shots are less noticeable. It’s best to try both on a TrackMan to see which one suits you better, as the spin and launch numbers are where you’ll see the most difference.

Both p770 and p790 irons have their unique strengths, the P770 Irons stand out for their smaller head shape, consistent distance, and workability, while the P790 Irons, however, shines in their premium feel, fast ball speeds, and shot shaping ability. Both irons have a similar structure and the only major difference is the size and the weight of the P770, It is more compact than the P790.
As someone who has been golfing for a year now, I agree with this
