Hey there, I want to know what people think about using a “breakfast ball” on the first tee. Do you consider a score valid if someone uses a breakfast ball on the first hole but counts every stroke and penalty from then on? Do you and your friends allow breakfast balls during your weekend games? My friends usually arrive at the course 10 minutes before tee time, without any warm-up, and go straight to the first tee. We allow everyone to hit a breakfast ball if they want. But if we’re playing for money, we don’t allow breakfast balls. What do you all think?

Do you consider a score valid if someone uses a breakfast ball on the first hole but Technically, a breakfast ball breaks one of golf’s primary rules—playing entirely by the book. Although it’s not legit in official competitions, social games often allow breakfast balls. It’s like a secret handshake among golfers.

Breakfast balls can be a convenient and tasty way to start the day. They’re portable, easy to eat, and can pack a lot of nutrition into a small package. Plus, they come in many flavors and varieties, so there’s usually something for everyone!

When I play in the Masters or the Ryder Cup I don’t take a breakfast ball. Every other time, I do.
