A course near me has very high weeds just off the rough. To the point of the balls goes 1 foot in, it’s gone. Weather is finally good so decided to walk 18 and just walk the edge of the weeds. Found 31 balls and didn’t really try, just anything I could see without hunting.
My story is that I found 5 red Srixon Supersofts, brand new, all the same number.
That guy was having a bad day, I found 2 of his sleeves and wasn’t trying.

I found four identical TP5s (same mark) on four different holes a few weeks ago, walking a course.
I was looking for my own balls though. So zero judgement here.
I played a round a few years ago where I found a TM green stripe ball just on the first fairway. The way the course is arranged it could not have come from any other hole and there was no one ahead or behind us. So I picked it up and played with it. I then proceeded to lose that ball and find another identical ball with a different number in roughly the same place I was looking twice. I was basically playing the same round as some unfortunate dude ahead of me.
@Rory
I was making an Oregon Trail joke. Although I did occasionally take my fishing pole with me for the water holes at the course I learned to play on in rural Georgia.
Fall golf here in NJ so I found 4 Prov1’s yesterday (along with 9 others). It helps to be the first tee time when the grounds crew is blowing leaves back. You just walk the leaf line and it’s too easy.
@Miller
I had the same experience today. First guy off on a heavily wooded executive 9 by me. Two holes behind the leaf blower. One hole, I walked up to my ball and there were three around it. I ran out of room in my bag.
I had to give up balls hounding a few years ago when I unknowingly got bit by a brown recluse spider, thought I had the flu for 3 days then went to the urgent care because I had a 102 fever. Then ambulance ride to the hospital where I spent the next 4 days. After that bill of several thousand dollars I can only walk the woodline and look on the edges of ponds for balls. Good luck out there, I hope you guys find my balls in the brush.
