US players to be paid £400k for playing in Ryder Cup

It’s a good job ticket prices are $700. It’s just classic corporate greed at this point. And of course, the charity proposal was obviously nonsense.

Still don’t think there’s any risk of the Europeans doing this considering the Ryder Cup basically funds the prize money for the rest of the calendar.

@Ashton
What was the charity proposal?

Of $500k USD given to players, $300k goes to charity of their choice. $200k a stipend for them.

And the charity is probably the foundation for kids that don’t read good.

@Ashton
My brother got selected to get tickets and it was like $2K for a single day.

If Cantlay makes the team, they should make him wear a sombrero.

Future members should give him a cut of their money instead.

Or a Stanzo brand fedora. They’re nice.

Why does America have to put a price on absolutely everything.

Jay Monahan is making money off of it; the pros should just put on a free dog and pony show? I’m in favor of this event being more charity-oriented; the PGA makes enough to cover costs from sponsors and donates the rest to kids on the course, etc., and ticket prices should be moderate and even have pre-approved charities for consumers to click and send their ticket proceeds to.

@Kei
Jay Monahan … the best reason to only watch the majors.

Because when people do work, they should get paid.
