Earlier this month I got a hole in one with a KS ball. A lot of golf companies offer something complimentary if you make a hole in one with their equipment, so I decided to email the CEO lol!
Was not expecting a reply and was surprised to get a response and get forwarded over to the SVP who got my details and sent some KS balls and a note. Gotta love Costco.
Many companies have a dedicated page on their website for claiming a HIO.
I did it with a Titleist and they ask you what course you did it at, what hole, yardage, club, etc.
Titleist sends an engraved wooden bag tag. Callaway sends a plaque. Sub70 puts a photo of you on their website. Taylormade sends a bag tag. Cobra sends a hat.

My grandfather had a handicap under 5 for about 30 years of the 70 or so that he played golf, and he never got one. And that’s with 4-5 rounds a week from the day he retired at 62 to when his knee gave out at 95 and he couldn’t play anymore.
A guy I was paired with got one on the second hole of his first round of golf ever. He topped a driver on a 150 yard par 3, and the ball skipped and rolled all the way into the hole.

I play maybe 2-3 times a week, have done so for the last year or two, and have been playing for about 15 total years. But with the frequency you’d think by now I’d have one. Closest I’ve gotten is 2 inches on 18 at Sandpiper. Played this afternoon and my ball mark was a foot right of the pin on one hole. It ended up 4 feet past. Golf is hard but I feel like at this point, and where you are as well, it’s a luck thing haha.
@Bailey
I rolled out of the cup at 18 Pasetiempo. Closest I’ve ever been and would have been quite the course to do it on and on a rare par 3 hole 18. Thought I might’ve ended my round in epic form.

I mean, at this point I’d take it. That said, how often are you truly solo? I feel like when I try to play alone I’m almost always paired with folks, unless it’s mid-summer afternoon.
@Bailey
In a high school tournament, I shanked my tee shot on a par 3 OB, hit my next one and it went in the hole for par. Worst/best par I’ve ever had. Still have never had an actual HIO.
@Ellery
I got one with Titleist clubs a few months back and never got a response from the official Instagram account. Is there another route to pursue? A wooden bag tag sounds cool!
