I’m 48 years old, have played for more than ten years, and am prepared to take golf lessons. I’m self-taught and have a handicap of 10. I was curious to know what people thought of the lessons that Golf Galaxy and PGA superstores gave. Did you find it worthwhile? Did you think it was well-made? Since the local PGA instructor doesn’t provide a video analysis, I’m intrigued by the location. I’m in New Jersey.
I’ve taken classes from a local pro and performed video analysis. We don’t usually glance at our swings, which makes the video content amazing. makes it easier for you to see and feel it. They often don’t deviate from that map and have a preferred swing type (golftec does stack and tilt). Local experts typically give minimal video analysis but collaborate with you on what works and what doesn’t. Go with the store if you plan to overhaul your swing with five or six classes. Choose a local if you just need a tune-up and some little adjustments.
I’ve taken video lessons from a local pro and found them very helpful.
The video analysis is great for seeing and feeling your swing. However, some places like Golftec focus on specific swing styles and don’t deviate. Local pros work with what feels good for you but offer less video analysis.
For major swing changes, go with a store. For minor tweaks, a local pro is best.
I went to Golf Galaxy outside of Pittsburgh and had a far worse experience than the local pro I’m now seeing. I shared one of the videos GG sent from my session in which he praised my swing, and everyone roasted both his critiques and my swing.
