I went out early today before work to play nine holes and distract my mind a bit. On the 5th hole I turned around and was struck by how beautiful the scene was.
It’s also really terrifying what it can do to your mental state.

Played yesterday. After one hole, my buddy and I decided to score using smiley faces. Lots of :(, not many :), and a few :|.

Absolutely! Especially when you’re making great shots on the front nine, then butcher your score on the back by watching your ball snap hook. But really, it’s still better than not being on the course at all!
@Florian
Or when you go +9 on the front and +1 on the back, lol.
Mental health is the whole reason I play golf!
Golf is cheaper than weekly therapy and much cheaper than divorce.

Can I get my insurance to pay for golf?

It depends! Some health insurance plans view golf as a fitness activity and may reimburse part of it. Unless you are a client of ours, we often take clients who refer business to us out for rounds of golf.

Some say golf drives people to therapy and divorce.
100% true! Sunlight and exercise are incredibly beneficial. I absolutely love posts like this.
Agreed! I was feeling overwhelmed after last night’s election and needed to clear my head. Walked 18 on a beautiful, cloudless fall day, played with some nice folks from Korea (terrible golfers, great people), and enjoyed the camaraderie. I even made an eagle on No. 16. My serotonin levels were WAY higher than before teeing off.
@Phoenix
Love that!
I agree—sometimes I step back and appreciate the natural beauty of the course.
Then I go mental after flubbing the shot!!!
Totally agree! For the most part, golf is great for my mental health… until I four-putt a 6-footer on a par 3.

Or when you can only get your second drive to hit a fairway…every hole…when you’re just there to relax a bit. Still better than sitting at a desk.
I may not be the greatest golfer, but I completely agree.

I feel like I know this course…OP?
