I can understand why. Their bunker sand is a proprietary blend not allowed at other courses. For all they knew, that spectator couldâve been trying to steal a sample.
Thatâs the most âThe Mastersâ thing I have ever heard.

Do you have a source on this? Iâm pretty sure Mount Mitchell GC uses the same SP55 sand.

I love the Masters but canât bring myself to care about damage to a golf course, considering the larger context.
It makes me sad to see something so beautiful get wrecked, but fortunately they can rebuild. 99.9% of others canât say that. Itâs tragic all around.

Yeah, I love the Masters but kinda despise Augusta National. Itâs super elitist and has a history of banning POC and women. To me, itâs whatâs wrong with golf. Not that Iâm glad they had damage, but I really donât care when others have lost everything.

Looks like a lot of trees had compromised root systems. At least the high-risk trees are down now.
Iâve heard they water so frequently that their roots donât grow deep, which makes them more susceptible to falling. Augusta doesnât really mind, as long as it doesnât kill someone.
Iâm sorry, but I canât feel bad for a golf course with a $250,000 initiation fee and $10,000 annual fee. They have plenty of money for repairs. Some people lost everything because of these storms. Letâs not forget them.
Next April, you wonât notice a thing. They spend a lot for that week; this will be an inconvenience to the club. Theyâll easily raise funds to fix it.
