Should I Get a Portable Launch Monitor?

Hey fellow golf enthusiasts,

I’m looking to improve my game, and I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz lately about these portable launch monitors, like that in the background. They seem like a handy way to get instant feedback on my swing and track my progress at the driving range or even at home.

But with so many options out there, I’m a little overwhelmed. Are these things worth the investment? What kind of features should I be looking for?

Anyone using a portable launch monitor? I’d love to hear your experiences before I take the plunge.

Thanks,

Both, if you are able.
Certain statistics, including your distances, swing speed, and ball speed, are undoubtedly helpful in measuring and understanding swing changes, regardless of whether the changes “felt good.” You make progress as you go rather than just feeling things out and hoping for the best.

You don’t need a launch monitor to improve your golf shots; observing ball contact and flight is enough. Occasionally using a monitor can check progress, but relying on it every shot may cause you to overfocus on numbers and become frustrated, as practice drills take time to show results.

Have you given thought to spending one hour each day, two to five days a week, chipping, putting, and 200–300 range balls? works a miracle.
