My backyard is smaller, but it still has enough space for me to practice hitting my driver on a wiffle ball. Is this a useful way to practice “making solid contact”? Will using a wiffle ball help in learning to make excellent contact? I know it won’t feel the same as a real golf ball and all that.
Wiffle balls for driver practice in a small yard? Sure, why not. It won’t feel exactly like a golf ball, but it can help with making solid contact. Think of it like swinging a bat with a tennis ball - good for getting your swing mechanics down, but not the real deal. If you can focus on hitting the wiffle ball squarely, it’ll translate well to making clean contact with a real golf ball later. Just don’t get too hung up on distance or trajectory with the wiffle ball, focus on a smooth, powerful swing.
