P790 owners, do you enjoy using your irons?

Hey everyone, just got fitted for new irons today and went with the TaylorMade P790s. I’ve improved my golf game enough that I’m ready to move on from my old, forgiving irons and try something less forgiving. I tried lots of different brands, but once the fitter set up the P790s with a stiff PX10 shaft, it felt like a huge improvement. I had a lower ball flight, better spin rate, and was hitting about 10 yards further on average.

I decided to buy them, but I’m curious to hear from others who have been playing with them for a while. How do you like them?

Best wishes on your new P790s! These irons are amazing. I have heard similar comments from others: increased spin, lower flying, and increased distance. In comparison to your previous irons, how do these feel? I am curious to know what happened to you after a round.

I am loving my P790s! They certainly deliver in terms of control and distance (I also fitted for a firm PX10 shaft!). Are there questions you have?

P790’s are still quite forgiving. I know several people who really like their P790’s and P770’s.

I had mine for about two months, and after using them for a few rounds, they feel fantastic, but I’m having trouble holding the greens with my mid irons. The ball flight of the KBS Tour Lite S shafts appears to be quite high; I’m only worried about the spin I’m receiving, particularly with the 8,7 iron. Is there anyone else experiencing this issue?
