Today’s New Club Day for me, and I’m pretty excited about it. Just picked up [club model or brand], and I can’t wait to take it to the course. It feels like a game-changer already!
Curious to know what clubs everyone else is swinging these days? Any recent upgrades or favorites in your bag?
Got those in 50, 54 and 58, absolutely love them, although the 58 really has no purpose in my game other than being cool on the range and blading it into oblivion in games…

My 60 serves a single purpose—get me over a bunker and on the green. I saw a short video from (I think) Dan Grieve that immediately improved my chipping… basically, it was to take the club away outside and come across like you’re trying to slice it.
If you care, I will try to find the video when I have a minute. It’s the first time I’ve been confident getting a 60° to pop up without fear of blading it over the green. Even when I was playing a ton of golf and scoring better than I am now I could never use loft around the green.
Now if only I could keep the ball in play off the tee…
@Quin
My 60° is my most used wedge, 90 yards and in, and any bunker or chip shots, and the occasional ‘I really would like to just be over this tree’ shot. How far are people hitting these wedges that a 60° isn’t useful? My 54° is about 110 yards and my 50° is my 125 club for reference, but I absolutely need my 60° every round multiple times.
I don’t have the full face but an older RTX and I absolutely agree, my only problem with it are the mean divots it can leave on a green from a long high shot.

I run that same combo and the 58 is fantastic if you only use it when you absolutely have to. It’s not for chipping, or unnecessary flop shots. It’s not for an approach shot or a touchy pitch, and only tour pros have any business hitting it full swing from the fairway.
I only pull it out when I think the 54 literally can’t get the job done, which is usually when I’ve missed the green and have to get up a steep slope or I’m fairly close to the edge of a bunker and am worried about launch angle. It’s a hard club that I use when I’m in a hard spot with bad options, and if I have the discipline to use it sparingly (sometimes not at all) then it’s a plus club in the bag.
@Avery
Absolutely, the 50° I usually use for classic approaches, but the 54° really does all the utility around the green. 58° only when it doesn’t matter or there is no other option, but then it’s really good fun.

I have that in a 52. Absolutely rips covers off the ball. My go-to club around the green.
Just picked up a 56 a couple weeks ago after hearing my brother rave about them. Was blown away by how much more spin it generates than my old wedge (stock pxg 56).
