That’s not really a liquid or a solid, but I’ll try to drink it.
I hear you on a lot of levels. I’m a vet too, been playing with Mizunos for 11 years. If I ever get new irons, they’ll be Mizuno for sure. Even when I hit the ball off the toe, it just goes a little right and only 5-10 yards short—these things really save shots.
Golf has been a great outlet. The social aspect of playing is great, but practicing at the range by myself has been just as helpful. I can work on my swing and at the same time work through personal stuff. It’s like therapy.
I usually spend more time practicing than playing rounds. My wife gets it too. When I tell her I’m going to hit some balls, she asks if I worked through stuff when I get back, and I say ‘yup.’

Congrats on the sobriety! I’ve been sober for 7 months, and the best thing I’ve gained is a clear mind and a real enjoyment of life. I’m active duty (16 years) and have also struggled with alcohol. It’s a hard fight, but life gets so much better once you’re free of it. Keep pushing!

I looked into it when I was buying my clubs, but I didn’t see any Mizuno veteran discounts. Callaway has 10%, Ping offers about $10 off per club, and PXG has some discounts. Could it have been something your fitter offered as part of the overall deal?
