How much does a country club membership cost?

In Australia, most golf courses are open to everyone. Even the really good ones let anyone play at certain times. I’m interested to know, how much does it cost to join a country club where you live?

The cost of a country club membership can vary widely depending on factors such as the location, amenities, prestige, and level of membership. Memberships at country clubs can range from a few thousand dollars per year to tens of thousands of dollars annually, or even more for exclusive clubs.

In general, country club memberships often require an initiation fee, which can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars. Additionally, there may be annual dues, which can vary based on the type of membership (e.g., individual, family, corporate) and the facilities and services included.

Some country clubs offer multiple membership tiers with different levels of access to amenities such as golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, dining facilities, and social events. Higher-tier memberships typically come with higher initiation fees and dues but may offer additional perks and privileges.

It’s important to research and inquire directly with the country club in question to get accurate information about membership costs, as they can vary significantly from club to club. Additionally, some clubs may offer promotions, discounts, or flexible payment options to make membership more accessible to potential members.

@Barbara. If clubs were that cheap here I would join in a NY minute. The cheapest club is $10K initial with $500 w/$100-$300/month food purchase minimums. The mid-level clubs range from $15K-$30 initial with food minimums and upscale range $50K-$200K. The public courses range from $65 to $125 w/cart. Bethpage is a State course. NYS residents pay $38-$43 for Yellow, Blue, or Green (walking. Carts $30-$40 extra) Red is $43-48 for walking and Black is $65-$85 (walk ONLY) Caddy $100 + tip. It’s almost impossible to get tee times. Golf on Long Island is very expensive.

Initiation Fee: This singular charge can vary from $5,000 to $50,000 or beyond, contingent upon the club’s level of exclusivity.
Monthly Dues: Monthly charges may span from $100 to $500 or higher, determined by the range of amenities provided by the club, such as golf courses, pools, tennis courts, etc.
Annual Assessments: Certain clubs impose annual assessments in addition to monthly dues, which can fluctuate based on the club’s financial requirements.
