I barely started golfing last year, and I’m really enjoying the game, but I know I have a lot to learn. I often struggle with hitting the ball straight, and I’m concerned about my form. I would love to hear any advice or tips you all might have to help me improve my game.
What drills or practices can I do to ensure I’m hitting straight?
Are there specific aspects of my stance or grip that I should focus on?
Your swing’s pretty solid …You’ve got nice rhythm and footwork, and the backswing path looks great. If you could stretch that backswing a bit so the club head’s aiming at your target, you’d crank up the distance.
Not a bad start at all…The best way to learn is to find someone who can teach you the basics. If you can swing it, grab some lessons first. Maybe there’s a relative who’s a pro at the game and can show you the ropes. Then just get out there and hit a ton of balls…
Your follow-through looks solid! Just try to get that backswing a bit higher. Sometimes, the right swing feels off until you put in the reps. Check out videos of good golfers and read up on it. And definitely don’t take advice from amateurs on this forum (www.golfdialogue.com) I hope you’ve got the drive to improve, and maybe one day we’ll meet up on the course. That would be epic
First thoughts are that driver looks way too big and stiff for your swing. Find some clubs that fit your swing with lady flex or senior flex, should help.
Not bad at all … First things first, you should definitely get a lesson. One tip I’ll give you is to hinge your wrists during the backswing. It’s called lag, and it helps generate power in your swing. Just lead with your left arm and let your wrists and the club follow along (keeping it simple).
