My handicap is 32, and my driver is the weakest part of my game. It does not help that my driver is pre-owned with an ultra-stiff, 70g shaft (Callaway Epic Flash).
What is a good driver for someone like me who struggles to hit the middle of the clubface and needs a lighter, less stiff shaft? I am taking lessons and improving, but my current driver just is not right for me.
Any suggestions? I would also love to hear what driver you started with!

The rigidity of the shaft is unlikely to be your major issue. The lengthy driver shafts make it difficult to maintain consistent contact.
Most mid-range drivers today are designed for maximum forgiveness and potential, unlike irons which have “game improvement” classes. Some drivers are marketed as tour or players’ style, but these are rare, so just avoid those. Any typical Callaway or TaylorMade driver is a good choice. They offer configurability, allowing you to adjust the driver to fit your swing.
