Golfing in January in the PNW

The best thing is playing golf when skipping out on stuff

I’ve had to dodge balls from the range on hole 11. But dodging balls is part of the fun at Bellevue Muni.

Is that the short par 3

@Whit
Yep. I play from the blues, so that walk up to the tee box with my push cart is rough. But nothing beats the back 9 at Redmond Ridge lol

Those bunkers look familiar. How’s the course holding up? Is it wet? I haven’t been out since October

@Hart
Honestly, it’s no worse than when you played last. It’s wet but in good shape. They had to close the back nine for a few weeks because of the wind storm. The 12th green is being worked on because a tree fell on it, but other than that, I enjoyed playing today.

I lived across the street in Sixty-01. Loved heading to the range and playing a round. I was there at least twice a week. Those were magical times in the PNW for me. I don’t miss the par 5 Z hole or the green on 9 though.
This post made my day, thanks

Great observation! It took me a bit, but those sand traps are definitely recognizable

This is a municipal course? In the Bay, the fairway would be mostly mud and it would cost a hundred dollars.

Looks too dry. I don’t believe you

The Rainier in the cart gives it away

  1. Love the Billy Strings headcover

  2. I miss living in Seattle. Those municipal courses are amazing being only a 15 minute drive from a major city and only about $37 to play.

  3. I really miss those winter rounds in the PNW. Sometimes muddy but still playable for several days each winter. Now I’m in NJ and my club is buried under a few inches of snow and pretty much shut down except for using the simulator for another 8 weeks.

@Brett
$37 days are long gone lol

Seriously? I used to play West Seattle, Jackson, Jefferson, Bellevue about three times per week for around that before Covid

I think I paid $35 yesterday. Prime time on weekends can be $60 or more, especially if you ride a cart. There are good courses and fair prices around Seattle, just have to find them.
