First set of clubs for a female new to golf

I am 5’6", 28, and active in competitive softball but new to golf. I am debating between a box set like Callaway Strata or Solaire and buying clubs individually. I want quality within a $500 budget and will also invest in lessons. Any recommendations or advice on what’s essential?

A woman golfer’s ideal club set is not anything that exists. Nonetheless, there are two typical instances of club makeup looks that suit ladies well: First option: driver, pitching wedge, gap wedge, sand wedge, putter, 4 hybrid, 5 hybrid, 6 hybrid, 7 iron, 8 iron, and 9 iron.

So, this is another thing I’ve seen mixed opinions on and I forgot to mention it in my post. Whether I should even be getting “ladies” golf clubs. Maybe Senior/A flex is a better option.

The other reply to this comment mentioned grips being too small. I would also mention I have large hands/fingers for a girl if that comes into play here…not sure. Lol.

A box set is a good starting point for new golfers. It offers a complete set at an affordable price. However, if you progress quickly, consider upgrading individual clubs to match your specific needs.

Invest in lessons to improve your swing and maximize enjoyment.
