Finally Upgraded My Driver After 14 Years!

To be fair, I bought an R7 but didn’t like it and went back to my original Burner 2.0. After watching my much smaller and younger brother start to outdrive me, I had to make a switch.

This driver is surprisingly forgiving. I’m not usually swayed by marketing, but the claims about the max model are spot on.

Great to hear that!

Congrats! I moved from the G2 to the G430. Didn’t see a distance increase, but definitely more accuracy.

That’s awesome! I definitely need to play some indoor rounds this winter.

Just got an ST-Max 230 from Mizuno. It was a tough choice between that and yours. Hope it serves you well!

Thanks, brother!

People say you’ll notice a difference every four years, so this should be a nice upgrade for you.

Ping drivers are the best for forgiveness and their unique sound. It might just be me, but it seems like Ping is keeping backspin lower over the years, even on the max models. I previously owned a G15, which was forgiving, but the ball would stop as soon as it hit the fairway. Seems like newer models don’t have that issue. I use a G425 max now and love it.

You’re going to love it!

I’ve heard great things. I still use a G400. Did you get a good deal? How much did it cost?

I got it for $399.

I love mine! It’s the best driver I’ve ever hit. There are older drivers like the Sim 2 that are great, but my Ping is awesome.
