FedEx Playoffs is Not the End of Season?

Hi Guys…

I just started paying attention to pro golf beyond the majors this year, and I’m a bit confused about the schedule. I thought the FedEx Cup playoffs marked the end of the PGA Tour season, but I recently noticed there are still 10 tournaments (plus the Presidents Cup) scheduled after the playoffs.

Am I missing something here? Is this how golf operates, or is there a specific reason for having events after the FedEx Cup? It just seems so odd to me compared to other sports where the playoffs conclude the season.

Fall Swing is always fun. Guys fighting to get into the top 125 for cards and get into the early signature evenrs

It is. The President’s Cup is not part of PGA schedule. The first event of the 24-25 season is the Procore Championship at Napa, California.

Ohh, so Procore is the start of the next season. So there is no extended break like other sports?

Nope, there isn’t. Many top players take a break until the Hero World Challenge in December, which is a special event hosted by Tiger Woods.

Then, the first big event of the new year is called The Sentry in Hawaii, which happens in January after New Year’s. After that, the season really gets going.
