I just got my new Titleist GT3 driver last night, and I couldn’t wait to share my experience! I previously used the TS3, and I’m thrilled to report that I’ve gained 5-10 yards of carry and 10 yards in total distance with the new driver.
With the GT3, my carry has increased from 255-265 yards to 265-270 yards. The launch angle has also improved significantly, going from 10-12° to 14-16°. I noticed that the spin rate increased to around 2000-2200 RPM, which contributed to the carry gains and helped eliminate the divey hook I struggled with before.
I paired the driver with a Graphite Design AD-DI 6s shaft, tipped an inch and cut to 45". I added +2g to the head weight, kept the standard hosel, and set it to a neutral weight setting.
Overall, I’m really pleased with the performance and can’t wait to hit the course with it! Anyone else have similar experiences with the GT3?
Oh my word. Sick pairing there. I game a ts3 with an autoflex sf505x. Want to throw the gt head on and mess with the loft settings a little. I love where I am now but could be enticed with similar gains
I’m really crushing my GT2. Lately, the guys keep saying, “Oh look, another fairway.” I will say it doesn’t have the same feel or sound as my old TSI2, but who cares when I’m hitting it straight down the middle 90% of the time!
How are you liking the sound? I didn’t enjoy it during my fitting but you get used to it quick i think. I just couldn’t stomach the $900+ price for premium shaft and new head.
I played my first round with mine yesterday and hit some amazing shots. Even my worst swing, which was a spinny heel shot, ended up in the fairway and only about 20 yards short of a perfect hit. It’s really impressive…
