Do you also use broken tees

I think everyone I play with, including myself, does this.

One of my friends is like this, says using someone else’s tee is bad luck. I’ve never seen him break 100, and he’s only used his tees. Maybe there’s something to that?

Clearly, he needs all the luck he can get.

You misspelled lessons, but I agree.

The more I practice and take lessons, the luckier I get.

I’ll take his tees and shoot in the 70s. I’ll let his bad luck bring me some good fortune.

He just hasn’t played enough. Get him on the course 4-7 times a week, and breaking 100 with a bunch of tees will be his thing. Then buy bamboo tees, I swear they’re unbreakable or at least more eco-friendly.

My golf friends tease me, but I only use an unbroken tee with my driver. For all my other shots, including 3 wood, I grab broken tees I find on the tee box, just enough to keep the ball off the ground. Am I the odd one here? I get frustrated when I can’t find a broken tee.

My friend used to walk up to the tee and see a bunch of tees—broken or not—and would say, ‘It’s a Boston tee party.’ He would pocket the unbroken ones and use a broken one for non-driver shots. He passed away last year, but I now say, ‘It’s a Boston tee party’ in his honor, RIP Johnny.

You gotta have a variety of tees.

+1 I always reuse tees.

I use plastic tees with my driver. Nubs with woods and irons.

Exactly the same here.

Tell your golf friends that everyone here is laughing at them because they’re the ones acting strangely.

They sound like psychos to me. MLN, don’t even waste your time telling them they’re wrong. Just block them.

Some places I play have little boxes next to the tee markers for this exact purpose! You can find one, drop it in, or take one for teeing off. You’re not alone.

Take a tee, leave a tee.

I couldn’t find a broken tee the other day. I refused to use a full tee and hit off the ground like a gentleman.

Ha. I’m often the same way. I prefer a broken tee, but option 2 is no tee at all. Plus, tees are free where I play.

Yes, you are normal. I feel strange putting a full 2.5 inch tee two inches into the ground for hitting a wood or hybrid, let alone an iron. I definitely find broken tees somewhere around the box.

At my place, people usually leave broken tees in a collection near the right side tee marker. It’s also easier on the mower blades when you can find them all in one spot. If I really can’t find a broken tee, I’ll snap a whole one in half to make a shorter tee.

This is hilarious. If I can’t find a nub on the tee box, I’ll break a new tee in half too. There’s just something about using a full tee on an iron tee shot. I don’t know why, but I do it all the time.
