Hey everyone, did you catch the Arnold Palmer Invitational this weekend? Corey Conners finished third and snagged a spot in The Open at Royal Portrush, which is awesome! He said it was the only major he hadn’t qualified for yet, so it’s pretty cool he got in. Anyone else excited to see him play there again?
Yeah, I saw that! He played solid, but it’s a bummer he didn’t win. Still, great for him to qualify!

Seriously, right? He made 17 pars in the final round, which is impressive. Just couldn’t really make a move.
@Dezi
What’s a par? I’m still getting the hang of golf terms.
@Dezi
A par is the number of strokes a skilled golfer is expected to take on a hole. So making a par means he played as expected.
Excited for The Open! Conners is a solid player. His best finish was T15 in 2021, right?

Yeah, that’s correct! He’s had some solid showings in majors. Just need a little luck on the course.
I love that he really liked playing at Royal Portrush back in 2019. That’s a good sign!

For sure! Feels like he’s got some good vibes for returning there. I bet he’ll do great.
@Clove
And he mentioned summer travel plans too, so it sounds like he’s really pumped for it.
Corey has played 24 majors and made 14 cuts. That’s impressive! I hope he can bag a top finish this time.

Same! He’s had some great finishes lately. Definitely a player to watch.
I wonder how he felt after finishing third? Must be a weird mix of feelings… happy but wanting more.

I can only imagine. But qualifying for The Open is a big win for him!
