Cold weather golf pants

I am about to buy some golf pants in the next ten minutes. Looking for clothing appropriate for the course, but warm enough to walk it in. Possibly fleece lined, moisture wicking, wind and weather resistant, and pleasant to wear with a base layer beneath armour legging.

Would hiking pants be a better choice? I see joggers, but nothing says fleece-lined or windproof. I aim to golf in temperatures ranging from 45 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

I do not care the brand, but please tell me what features to look for before purchasing something that is not practical, too hefty, or too lightweight.

50° is just average golf pants for me. I do not wear a baselayer till it is below freezing. But Adidas makes some hefty pants. They are not fleece-lined, but they are heavier than their regular pants. I believe they are marketed as “Fall Pants.”

I recently faced the same dilemma while gearing up for golfing in cooler weather, and I found that the key features to look for in golf pants are fleece lining for warmth, moisture-wicking fabric to keep you dry, and wind and weather resistance to handle the elements. Hiking pants can be a great alternative since they often come with these features, but make sure they are not too bulky and offer enough flexibility for a golf swing. Look for pants that are comfortable to wear with a base layer like Under Armour leggings underneath. Some brands offer hybrid pants that blend golf and hiking functionality, which might be ideal for your needs. Happy golfing!

Long Johns are the greatest; you can put them over briefs and tuck the shirt tail into them to form a proper seal and keep you warm.
